Oh goodness! Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster. Okay, when this film came out I was so excited about the scene in which the Smog Monster flies over the city and smogifies everyone. Fast forward to the incredibly freezing cold Saturday morning that my mom took me and my two younger brothers to see the movie. “Arschkalt” (ass cold) as the Germans would say. The line around the block, we waited patiently, finally got in, got our seats, and I was all set. Then my mom decided that I was the one who had to go back and get the popcorn and drinks. Since there was no arguing with my mom, I headed back to the lobby for another impossible line. Mission finally accomplished, I got back to my seat with the goodies only to discover that I have missed the critical, flying smogifying scene. Angry doesn’t even begin to describe it. The tears of 11-year-old’s rage are not pretty. I mean it’s not like SHE had been waiting for weeks to finally catch that scene. I’m gonna buy this damned movie and finally put to rest some of my “mother” issues ;-) Thank you Tumblr.
