Well, the election system is broken enough that 1) the popular vote doesn’t matter, & 2) Even if 3rd party candidates meet the necessary criteria, the election committee (Reps. & Dems.) change the rules after the fact, & bar them from debates anyway.Well that about sums it up … except for the sorry state of campaign financing (which can’t be mentioned without the absolute failure of any meaningful campaign finance reform). How much was spent on the US presidential election last time around? How many billions?
I voted for Jill Stein. Before that, Bob Barr. I’ll vote, but never for the duopoly, unless I’m sure it’s someone who’s not corrupted by greed, politics or their peers.I think the system is so broken, that even if a person isn’t corrupt when they’re elected, it is virtually impossible to remain uncorrupted. That said, I’m glad that you’ve found politicians that you feel are deserving of your support.
I’ve been detained at Guantánamo for 11 years and three months. I have never been charged with any crime. I have never received a trial.

Pretty much why I didn’t send in a ballot for the last US Presidential election.
A Dormouse appears to be laughing as it sits on top of a yarrow flower. The amusing photograph, taken by Italian photographer Andrea Zampatti, in Italy, shows how the heat had a strange effect on this little critter. Photograph: Andrea Zampatti/HotSpot Media
ETA: This creature obviously doesn’t suffer from any seasonal allergies … lucky bugger.
